The Leelanau Art Gallery Season launched with an artist's reception and show featuring the works of local Suttons Bay multi-media artist Vanessa Fox Gruenwald.
Vanessa incorporates found objects from nature, auto junkyards, and recycle centers to create one-of-a-kind art glass works that grace homes across the country. Antique automobile lenses and parts, rusty hardware and door knobs, as well as cast-offs from nature: driftwood and Petoskey stones are particular favorites.
Over 100 art lovers and Michigan Artists Gallery patrons casually wound their way through the many rooms of unique art and visibly enjoyed themselves while viewing the art and visiting with each other. Many were lingering over a vast array of complimentary taste treats, while sipping wine produced by local Leelanau Peninsula wineries and being gently serenaded by young guitarist Ben, son of Northport artist Char Bickell.
The event also launched the celebration of the tenth anniversary of Michigan Artists Gallery and announced their updated website at
